Hey friends, Abdul here. I'm sorry to drop in your feeds on a Sunday, but I wanted to let you all know about a bit of a change in my life. A few weeks back, I left a job I absolutely love as director of health, human and veteran services for Wayne County, Michigan. And last Thursday, I announced that I'm running for U.S. Senate here in Michigan. As many of you know, I ran for governor back in 2018. As we watch all of the things

we talk about on this podcast, science, public health, and critical safety net health care

programs get gutted. I had to ask myself what my responsibility was. After listening to folks

from across my state, from all walks of life, I realized that the kind of outcomes-driven leadership

that I've tried to bring to all of my

work was particularly critical now. With an open U.S. Senate seat here in Michigan, I decided to jump in.

I want to be clear, that won't affect America dissected at all. This is the last you'll hear

for me about my campaign here, and Caitlin and I will continue to bring you the honest, evidence-driven
