Do you in Jesus have your own thing going?

Because when you look around and you keep wishing you were this person,

or you keep wishing you were that person, all they have on you

is that they have their own thing going with Jesus.

Once you have your own thing going with Him,

and you have taken Him up on his promises to you

when you are living out the fullness of his promises in you and you are living out your calling

you will not be jealous of other people you will be fulfilled in what you have been called to do.

All right, let me tell you where we're starting here this morning.

We're starting in Matthew chapter three to just set the stage for where we're going.

I want you to hear it.

I was going to just lock in on five through nine, but you know what?

I just can't not do it.

We're going to read a lot of scripture together today. One thing you will not be able to say when you leave here this afternoon is we barely open our Bibles. That is

not going to happen here today. And we're going to have a lot of scripture under our belts today.

And so I just have to just go ahead and start at verse one. We've got it in us, and I'm going to go ahead and read to 17.

In those days, John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea.

Repent.

For the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said the voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord, make his path straight.

Now, John wore a garment of camel's hair and a leather belt around his waist and his food was locusts and wild honey.
