minute. So we kick off today with a very short update in the Karen Reed case.

A new trial date has been set for January 27th, 2025. Reed is accused of killing her boyfriend in January

2022. This week's hearing which was live streamed also addressed the

defense's motion to dismiss charges against Reed. The judge has scheduled a separate hearing for August 9th

to consider the motion to dismiss.

Reed was present in court today, but she did not speak.

She's charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of her boyfriend

46-year-old John O'Keefe. On July 1st, after a two-month highly publicized trial a

mistrial was declared, the jury couldn't reach a unanimous decision on Reed's guilt. Since then Reed's

lawyers have filed a motion to dismiss two of the charges she faced.

jury agreed Reed was not guilty of second-degree murder or leaving the

scene of a collision they argue the jury was only

undecided on one of the charges. The decision on this motion to dismiss will be

determined at the August hearing. Next up news from Idaho where Melissa Callim Pitt 35 has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of her estranged husband, Travis Haywood Callim Pitt.

The charges were filed on Friday July 19th and include an additional count of

destruction, alteration, and concealment of evidence. The case took a wild and

unexpected turn as Melissa's mother, 59-year-old Rosalie Lynn Morris has
