Gregory Peck gave us these attributes in full measure.

To this day the children of mockingbird call him Atticus.

So was delivered the eulogy of Gregory Peck in 2003 by one who perhaps had more insight into the man than most.

The speaker was Brock Peters.

Some 41 years before, he'd start alongside Peck in 1962's to kill a mockingbird as Tom Robinson,

the man defended by Peck's Atticus Finch amid an atmosphere of bigotry and segregation.

Atticus, you heard about Tom Robinson?

Yes, sir.
