When you read the stories of great people in the Bible, do you assume that you could never

be what they were?

Today's podcast looks at King David, not as one who is beyond us, but one who is like us.

Would you turn to Acts, Chapter 13?

And this is not first and second Samuel, but that's what we are talking about.

As a passage here that refers to what we are going to be talking about this evening,

the title of this message, a man after God's own heart.

So I want you to look in the 13th chapter of the book of Acts in Paul and his company, it says,

or Oven Antioch.

And in verse 14 it says,

they went to the synagogue on the Sabbath, they sat down.

And after the reading of the law and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogue,

in Acts sin unto them, saying, ye men and brethren, if you have any word of exhortation

for the people, say it.

Then Paul stood up and beckoning with his hands, said, men of Israel, and ye that fear

God give audience.

That's a good way to say it in it.

Ye men of Israel, and if you have any fear for God, listen to what I'm going to say.

The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers and exalted the people when they

dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with a high arm brought he them out of it.

And about the time of 40 years suffered he, their manners in the wilderness.
