0:21.8	You know, podcasting, people think, oh, it's easy.
0:25.1	You just pick up a recorder and start recording your conversation.
0:28.2	It's not like that.
0:29.2	I was working with somebody and just giving some advice to a friend of mine who was starting
0:32.6	a podcast and I sat with this person in the first episode and I had to constantly, and
0:40.1	I was being very constructive with my critiques and my instruction.
0:43.8	I don't like to give negative criticism, but I would say, okay, let's say that thing
0:48.9	that you just said again, but with a little bit more power, a little bit more emphasis
0:53.6	and excitement.
0:55.2	You have to always be aware that every single second you're competing with a million amazingly
1:01.3	talented kids on TikTok for eyeballs and attention and you have things to say.
1:07.6	You have more things to say, James, and you have to be able to express them in a way that
1:12.8	the listener wants to hear what comes next.
1:14.9	That's so true.
1:16.4	And I've actually heard in radio, this is like a no-brainer.
1:21.7	If there's like a one second pause, if you're reading a script and you're trying to get
1:25.8	something out and you stumble over a word and you're trying to think about it, you just
1:29.6	like had a million people change the station on you, on radio.
1:33.8	Well, that's very optimistic about the state of radio today, but maybe you lost 10 people
1:40.3	out of 100, but podcasting is certainly bigger than radio now and is bigger than a lot
