For today's guided prayer, we'll be taking a moment to receive communion as a community.

Consider now that thousands of people today across the globe will participate in communion through this guided prayer.

Consider the community of people that will engage in this holy practice of remembering and rehearsing what Jesus did for us.

As you grab elements, some form of food, some form of drink, each representing and symbolizing,

Jesus' body that the Bible declares was broken for our healing.

And the liquid representing his blood.

Blood that was spilled as a sacrifice so that we could walk in freedom.

Freedom from guilt and shame that comes with sin and missing the mark.

Today we're going to begin by taking the bread

and thanking God for sacrificing his body on the cross for us.

I think today about the crown of thorns that must have hurt.

I think today about the lashes on Jesus back.

I think today of the lashes on Jesus' back. I think today of the vivid detail written in scripture of his hanging on a cross.

The pain he must have endured.

Today let us thank him, for that pain was endured not for no reason, but so that we could walk in wholeness.

As you eat the bread, thank him for the wholeness you experience because of his sacrifice.

Next, let's move on. And in a moment, take a sip of the liquid representing and signifying the blood of Jesus

spilled for us.

And in a moment of surrender, let us surrender any guilt, shame, or condemnation associated

with our sin.

The law pointed out sin in our own lives to ultimately lead us to needing a Savior.

That Savior is Jesus and his blood was spilled
