You know Ronald Reagan back in the 80s he said many things but forever changed the course

of history. No one is Mr. Softy. That's right. But one thing that he did in 1984 I think

is the one thing that everyone remembers him most for and that is he's designated

July National Ice Cream Month. That's right. His most famous words weren't tear down

this wall. We have a copy of the proclamation here. It's holding it. Yes and it begins

ice cream is a nutritious and wholesome food enjoyed by over 90% of the people in the United

States. It enjoys a reputation as the perfect dessert and snack food.

Blah blah blah blah. Now therefore I Ronald Reagan president of the United States of America

do hereby proclaim July 1984 as National Ice Cream Month and I call upon the people of

the United States to observe these events with appropriate ceremonies and activities.

So this is it. This is our ceremony. This is our appropriate activity. We thought what

better way to celebrate summer than with ice cream and it turns out there are a lot of
