0:11.7	Lauren Fraer, one of NPR's international correspondence, got to visit the world's biggest vaccine producer,

0:23.0	You may have heard of one of the vaccines being produced there, the Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19

0:29.7	It's been in the news lately.
0:31.5	Setbacks have only grown for the AstraZeneca vaccine.
0:35.2	As France, Italy, Germany, and Spain become the latest countries to suspend its use.
0:41.2	Earlier this month, some countries mainly in Europe temporarily suspended their use of the vaccine
0:46.9	over potential rare side effects.
0:49.5	But after an investigation by the European Union's health agency, it was determined that the
0:54.4	benefits of the vaccine outweigh its potential risks.
0:58.7	And then yesterday, news breaking around 3am Eastern AstraZeneca, we're releasing the efficacy
1:04.8	numbers.
1:05.8	Preliminary efficacy results from a US-based clinical trial were announced by AstraZeneca,
1:10.9	which looked very promising, but now have come under scrutiny by an independent monitoring
1:16.8	group.
1:17.8	If and when the AstraZeneca vaccine is authorized in the US, the Serum Institute of India will
1:24.0	be ready.
