Monday was a marvelous day for the American Hockey League,

specifically in La Val at the

theater Marcellin Champaigne where amongst others Dave Andrews takes his

rightful place in the American Hockey League Hall of Fame. Dave joins me now. Dave first of all

congratulations. Thanks so much for doing this. How are you today?

Oh, I'm doing great. Thanks Jeff. Back in Arizona it was cold in Montreal but we

had a fantastic weekend. It was really an honor to participate

in and to have our family there and all my kids and some of my grandkids was really special.

Well, you know, I'm always, and first of all, such a well deserved honor, I mean, this league, I mean, before you was Jack Butterfield and now it's run by Scott House and like there have been some

some really influential hockey people that have run the American Hockey League and

one of the things that I was just talking to Elliot about a second ago as I as I look back at your tenure from 94 to

2020 running the American Hockey League is there are a lot of challenges and

I want to ask you about the the IHL here in a couple of moments.

But what always impressed me with how you ran things is you were always thinking about

innovation and doing things differently and trying new things.

Sometimes it was just for the league itself.

Sometimes it was, you know, to see if an idea could graduate into the National Hockey League.

When you look back at your time in the American Hockey League,

how would you describe the way you ran the end the end the the a h l gosh that's a that's a good question and I think I

think from the very beginning my thought was that we needed to respect the league more and to build more of a respect around the hockey industry for the American hockey league and for what it stood for and what it could be.
