Occasionally I get to do bonus podcasts like this one and I have the immense privilege

today of interviewing my dear friend Dr. Andrew Newell.

Andrew and I met a couple years ago at Wickliffe Hall, Oxford, where I was completing a year-long

certificate in theological studies, but I left after just one year and came back to the states.

Andrew however stayed on and has just graduated in September, he's just completed a D-Fill

in literature and theology through Wickliffe Hall, Oxford, where he currently lectures on 18th century

poetry, hemology and on diverse figures like T.S. Eliot, Matthew Arnold, Charles Wesley,

and Frederick Beakner. Andrew, congratulations on that D-Fill, you just wrapped that up in

September, is that right? That's correct, yes, thank you very much, thank you, it's very strange

to hear myself introduced in such a way, but I suppose that all of that is true, none of it was a

lot, there was no lie in there. Was it hard to cram that many brain cells in your head or tell us

about your methodology for getting those cells, you know, sort of in there? Not a unit or I can see

into the mind of God and say it's a miracle, we just must say that and praise him. We see the evidence,

we see the doctor in front of your name and we just, we take it on faith. I love that, I personally

only have two brain cells, but they have plenty of room to run around in cell. They have great

conversations. Andrew, we're here for a conversation that I am incredibly excited about and I know our

listeners will be as well. A year ago, I watched, I think it was a Facebook video of you doing a

lecture on one hymn in particular, Hark the Herald Angels sing. And I first of all think talking

about Christmas carols is amazing because, and I'm sure it's this way across the pond, but

state side, it's just about the only time when Christian doctrine is broadcast full volume
