Friends, welcome to the Ransomed Heart Podcast, John Eldridge and Morgan Snyder here in the studio and the week after Easter, wanting to grab hold of that, wanting to stay with Easter and stay with what it means and promises to us and kind of carry on a conversation

that we actually began in the week before Easter talking about this life that

is available to us now what does it mean to participate in that now? And as I was sitting

at the breakfast table this morning, Morgs, and kind of getting my thoughts together for being

in the studio with you today.

Jesus brought me back to this crazy story

in the book of Acts, chapter five,

that I want to read and I that your reaction to this.

Jesus is resurrected from the dead and Pentecost has come

and Christ ascends the throne, Pentecost comes,

and now the church is exploding.

Like the Battle of the Kingdoms has shifted from Jesus invading to his people invading,

right? They're kind of carrying on the mission here,

empowered by him.

So, Acts chapter 5, verse 12 begins,

the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders among the people and all the believers

used to meet together in Solomon's colonnade no one else dared join them even though they were highly regarded by the people.

Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number.

As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats

so that at least Peter's shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by.

Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem,

bringing their sick and those tormented by evil spirits,
