Tonight I'll be reading part 13, chapter 16, of A Little Princess by Francis Hodson-Bennett.

In the previous chapter, after being punished by a furious Miss Minchin for having a secret party, Sarah falls asleep, wishing for warmth and comfort.

And when she awakens, she finds her attic room miraculously transformed into a cozy space, complete with a fire,

food, and beautiful furnishings.

A note left in her room reveals these gifts are from a mysterious friend.

Overjoyed, Sarah runs to show Becky, who is stunned just the same.

Now that we're caught up with the story so far, let's get ourselves ready for sleep.

Start by taking a deep, relaxing breath. And settle your body in whatever way feels most

What the rest of the evening was like

How they crouched by the fire which blazed and leaped

and made so much of itself in the little grate, how they removed the covers of the dishes

and found rich, hot, savory soup, which was a meal in itself, and sandwiches and toast and muffins
