for a light for the world. A light shining in the darkness can be a symbol of hope,

safety, comfort, and and arrival it is a reality

longed for by those in seasons of darkness for those waiting for the dawn to come after a

long dark night and so it is the same for those at sea looking and longing for the shore in

Matthew 5 verses 14 through 60 Jesus says to the crowd gathered on the shore you are the

light of the world.

A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket.

But on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your

good works and give glory to your father who is in heaven.

Tonight's journey will give you the perspective of light from the sea, where you will see

the lighthouse from the sea as you

approach in the light of day. And again, as you stand on the balcony of that very same

lighthouse after the sun has set, an experience that will remind you of those words of Jesus

from the sermon on the mount. Just as the light from a light of the light of those words of Jesus from the sermon on the Mount.
