First up, we have Johnny Ericsson Tata, the founder and CEO of Johnny and Friends International

Disability Center, and an International Advocate for People with Disabilities.

In 1967, when Johnny was just 17, a diving accident left her a quadriplegic in a wheelchair without the use of her hands.

After two years of rehabilitation, Johnny emerged with new skills and a fresh determination to help others in similar situations.

Since that time, she has authored over 50 books, has served on the National Council on Disability,

and on the Disability Advisory Committee to the U.S. State Department and has received numerous

awards and honors for her ministerial and humanitarian work. Today she

encourages us that even when we think there is no answer to our deepest hurts, we can find strength in Christ.

Hi, I'm Johnny Erson Tata.

I lead a ministry that distributes wheelchairs around the world to children with disabilities and adults with

disabilities.

We distribute Bibles.

We hold retreats, five days of hands-down slam-d dunk fun for special needs families.

Bible study, wheelchair square dancing, hiking, swimming.

And we hold there's retreats also in developing nations.

Next year we'll have 68 family retreats in the United States

and around the world.

We've delivered, what, nearly 200,000 wheelchairs.
