you found us. Let me ask you a question. Who is the most honorable person you have ever

known? Maybe it was a grandfather or grandmother, a parent, a coach, a teacher. Think about that

for a moment. Who is the most honorable person you have ever known? We're going to be talking

today about a life worthy of honor as we look at Genesis chapter 23 and the life of Abraham.

But before we get there, I just want to thank all the people who have been generously giving

the life of Abraham, we're here at Genesis 23, one through six. Abraham has just surpassed

perhaps the most trying test of his entire life. And then he hits a tragic season. Let's

begin reading in 23 verse 1. Sarah, this is Abraham's wife, Sarah lived 127 years. These

were the years of the life of Sarah and Sarah died at Curiaith, Arba, that is Hebron, in

the land of Canaan. And Abraham went in to mourn for Sarah and to weep for her. And Abraham

rose up from before his dead and said to the hit-tights, I am a sojourner and foreigner

among you. Give me property among you for a burying place that I may bury my dead out

of my sight. The hit-tice answered Abraham, hear us, my Lord. You are a prince of God among

us. You bury your dead in the choicest of our tombs. None of us will withhold from you
