We're going to read two verses from 2 Chronicles chapter 26, both about Eusiah, King Eusiah, verse

0:10.4

5, verse 2 Chronicles 26, 5. He set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who instructed

0:18.4

him in the fear of God. And as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper.

0:24.5

So this picture is crystal clear, the prosperity from God accompanies the pursuit of God.

0:35.0

That when we pursue God, we will experience prosperity from God. I'm not promising, nor is the Bible

0:45.4

promise that means earthly, material, physical prosperity. But it does mean prosperity in all the

0:55.0

ways that matter most. That kind of prosperity always accompanies the pursuit of God. But then you

1:03.2

get to verse 16 in 2 Chronicles chapter 26 and listen to what it says about Eusiah there.

1:51.0

good in our lives comes ultimately and only from God. You might think, well, but I've worked hard

2:02.4

to acquire this or to achieve this or to get to this or that point. I've done all kinds of things

2:09.4

and yes, I don't doubt that you have, but who gave you the grace to wake up in the morning?

2:18.4

All those days that you are achieving this or that. Who gave you the strength to do that?

2:23.1

Who gave you the gifts to be able to do that? Who gave you the abilities to be able to do that?

2:27.9

All of that comes from God. So put aside all pride in all of our lives. Put aside pride,

2:37.0

anything good in us is ultimately from God. Put aside pride then and pursue him and keep

2:46.6

pursuing him until the day you die. That's the lesson from King Eusiah in 2 Chronicles,
