I'm Martha McCallum.

Loneliness knows no season.

And in 2023, U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murphy advised Americans about the dangers of what he called a loneliness epidemic that was sweeping across the country. People described as isolated, feeling invisible,

and insignificant. But through biblical principles and examples, along with true life stories, author Ruth Graham,

shares how God can transform the loneliness into a positive experience as it did for her.

I had the opportunity to sit down with Ruth as she discussed her book called transforming loneliness,

deeping our relationships with God and others when we feel alone. So Ruth, if I may, I wanted to

start with something that our producer found when she was working on this segment. And because the

topic is loneliness,

something that doesn't get talked about enough

and something that so many of us experience

at different points in our lives

and that can leave us feeling as if the Lord is not with us

or that we have to do something special in order to create
