I'm Mick Garrus, and this is Postmortem.

One of the staples in the horror genre in film,

but especially in television, is the anthology.

Perhaps the first horror anthology movie was the 1945 British film,

Dead of Night.

But the 1970s produced a slew of them.

Tales from the crypt and vault of horror

based on the popular 1950s E.C. comic books,

Asylum, Tales that Witness Madness,

and the house that dripped blood among many others.

Of course, the 80s brought creep show among many more others,

and they've kept coming to the present and surely beyond.

Television horror anthologies started in the 1950s

with the Twilight Zone in one step beyond.
