We discovered him through his colleague, Amel Elmaktar, with whom he wrote the time travel

to Pistolary novel.

Max Gladstone has been thrown from a horse in Mongolia and that's something I can't

say about anybody else I know.

And he's been nominated for the Hugo, John W. Campbell and Lambda Awards.

He is also the author of Empress of Forever and the Hugo nominated Craft Sequence.

And of course he wrote this really spectacularly crafted story you will hear today.

It's called Kiss with Teeth and it was originally published by Tor.

We'll meet Glad, our protagonist.

Glad is a father, a husband and accountant and also Glad is a vampire.

One who has decided to suppress his darker urges in order to live an urban lifestyle with

his loved ones.

We get to know Glad bit by bit and we get to know how truly painful it can be to deny

our inner truths.
