Fox News agrees to a huge settlement with voting equipment-maker Dominion. How huge? Here's

Fox Media correspondent Howard Kurtz with Lack of Detail. A Dominion lawyer gave reporters

a dollar figure for the segment, but I have not been able to inadvertently confirm that.

This was after the Dominion lawyer announced that it was $787.5 million on the courthouse

steps. After Kurtz's colleague Neil Cavuto announced it was $787.5 million on Fox's

air, and after Murdoch owned publication The Wall Street Journal reported the figure

to be $787.5 million, do let us know when you nail it down for sure. The question is,

a question I've heard is why would Dominion have settled now? It seemed, in fact, this

was the reporting at a pre-trial discovery that every ruling was going against Fox. Perhaps

you like me heard speculation and previews of the trial with many legal experts. In fact,

to unanimous chorus of legal experts, Fox's in really bad shape could lose the $1.6

billion they were being sued for. Why did Dominion take $787.5 million? I can confirm.

In this part of the show, I'd like to just lay out the economics of the decision so

that you understand it, and then we'll talk to an actual media correspondent who does

So $787 million now, or $787 million in the hand, is probably worth a questionable $1.6

billion in the bush. Remember, if a jury gives a large award, the injured party doesn't
