Hey guys, it's Gary Vay, Nerd Chuck, and this is the GaryVee audio experience.

0:10.4

I'm going to, uh, yeah, a little bit, but I've really come to a place where the biggest reason I started the Ask GaryVee show was

0:20.0

as how many people here have seen one of my keynotes, hold on, hold on, hold on.

0:26.0

How many people here have seen one of my full keynotes on YouTube? Raise your hand.

0:30.0

Right, so as you can imagine, I'm sure there's people in this room that don't know who I am, and I'll give you a little context,

0:36.0

but I think that we can get a lot more value in actually going into the actual details, because when you give a keynote like this,

0:44.0

or when I put out my vlog, or all the different things that I do, I'm trying to talk about the thesis, right?

0:50.0

I don't know about your individual thing, where I really make my hey, and what I think has made me successful outside of being a speaker or personality,

1:00.0

and I think a lot of people here, it seems like a lot of you know who I am, I often say that GaryVee is my side hustle.

1:06.0

You know, the thing that I'm most proud of is there was no books, there were no keynotes, there was no me the way you guys know me

1:14.0

for the first 13 years of my career, I actually built an actual business that wasn't predicated on extracting dollars out of a fan base,

1:22.0

it was a retail store selling stuff. Even today, at the height of my career, at the height of my popularity,

1:28.0

all my income really comes from selling to Fortune 100 companies, which is not the makeup of the people that tend to watch or consume every little piece of my content,

1:39.0

so I'm selling to a world that is not predicated on my personal brand. So I think that whole world and those things actually get into the part of Q&A,

1:50.0

what you know, for the people that most follow me, they heard me say something for the first time that I ever said it during a daily V the other day,

1:58.0

which is I feel like I'm a cat scan of business, it's really interesting to me, much like many of you can do certain things very quickly,

2:05.0

I would equate it to you, if you're a great cook, you can open a refrigerator, look at it, scan it, find things, and then cook and create a meal, I couldn't do that on my best day,

2:16.0

but I can absolutely hear a question about a business reverse engineer it and start figuring out how to make it more profitable or more successful,

2:25.0

that's what's been in me my whole life, and that's why I really do want to get into Q&A. So before we get into that, let me talk about the thing that a lot of you already know,

2:34.0

which is I'm obsessed with attention, I think that no matter what anybody does in this room, whether they're trying to build their personal brand,

2:41.0

running a software company, trying to sell t-shirts, the one thing that I'm comfortable in talking about in a room like this is attention,

2:49.0

because regardless of what you're trying to sell, or if you're trying to raise money for a nonprofit or help a family that's house burnt down,
