I'm Jay Warner Wallace.

We're going to talk this week about something that is key to the Easter narrative.

Now, whether you're watching this the week after Easter or before Easter or any other time during the year, I wanted to make a point about a most important

piece of evidence in the claims of Christianity, in the Christian worldview, in the collection

of evidence as supporting the Christian worldview, and that is the resurrection.

Paul tells us in 1st Corinthians 15, the letter he wrote to the Corinthian Church that if the

resurrection is not true, we are to be pitied for a couple of reasons. Number one, there is no real

hope of resurrection for ourselves of being brought back from the dead for ourselves if the

resurrection of Jesus is not true. Number two, we've been lied to. If the claims about the resurrection

in the New Testament are false, the writers then have lied, and we have, unfortunately, if we believe

this nonsense, have believed the lie and we are to be pitied. Now, when I first read that, that was

interesting to me as a guy who was not a Christian. As a guy who was a skeptic, I thought to myself,

this is interesting because here is a guy who is doubling down on the claim, really,

in the first century.
