A big sale in the snack industry

has people buzzing and stomachs, perhaps growling. Last week, J.M. Smucker, perhaps best known for its

peanut butter and jelly products, became the proud new owner of Hostess. Yep, the king of snack cakes.

Smucker bought Hostess for $5.6 billion, and the move reflects Smucker's

growing desire to bring more snack foods into its fold. Smucker is currently home of the

uncrustable, that classic peanut butter and jelly snack, but with a hostess pickup, they're looking

to get more into shelf-stable brands like Twinkies and Ho-Hos.
