I mean, this is part of your existence.

So what was the first project that somebody actually paid you some money to do something?

You know, what was your first sort of hardware project where you actually got paid to do it?

Well, so in high school, it was when there was cable de-scrambler boxes.

It was before digital cable.

And I had a teacher at my high school who got one of these boards and needed somebody to assemble it.

And the electronics club screwed it up.

You know, they took a half-hearted attempt

because my cat had it all messed up.

So that summer, I convinced them to give me the board

that if I got it to work, I forget it was like,

it's probably $20 or something, which, you know, and I spent about a month

in this little crawl space, you know, with my multimeter and my sovereign iron and got it to

work, delivered the board, got my 20 bucks, spent it off the typical arcade, probably that same day.

You know, so I mean, this is, you know, these were like, wow, people will actually pay you to do stuff with technology.

You know, that to me was like, I'd be doing this for free.

I mean, I would pay me doing this, but I have no money.

You know, I'm a kid growing up in Chicago.

Yeah. I would pay me doing this, but I have no money. You know, I'm a kid growing up in Chicago. So, I mean, I'm gladly paying if I could if I had money.

But wait, you're going to pay me to do this?

Like, oh, yeah, I mean, I'll definitely do it.

And so you grew up, you went, you grew up your childhood, I guess, at least in Chicago.
