Jimmy Ruth Matthews remembers receiving a difficult phone call.

The woman on the other end of the line was living with her husband, Lorne.

And she told me, she said, God has shown me that Lauren and I are going to be married.

Marriage is a covenant.

It's a pledge to be faithful unto death, regardless of what circumstances may arise.

A covenant is very different than a legal or business contract.

In a contract, when one party fails to fulfill their obligations, the contract can be broken,

and the other party can be freed from their commitment.
