This week, we have two stories. We will start in Houston,

where police are calling the deaths of an entire family a murder suicide.

On Monday afternoon, May 4th,

Houston police were called to a welfare check

at a home on Kingston Street in the River Oaks neighborhood.

The family inside hadn't been seen or heard from since the night before.

Officers entered the residence around 5.25 p.m. and found four people dead from gunshot wounds.

The dead were identified the following day as 52-year-old Matthew Mitchell, his 39-year-old wife,

T. Mitchell, their 8-year-old daughter Maya, and their four-year-old son, Max. Houston police said

evidence of the scene indicated that Matthew shot his wife and both children before turning

the gun on himself. Matthew and T. Mitchell were known in the Houston restaurant scene.

They opened Traveler's Table in October 2019, a globally inspired restaurant with dishes like Pad Thai and Jamaican jerk pork.

They added a second location Traveler's Cart in 2024.

Tea's sister, Lee Mai, was the first family member to confirm the desk publicly.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, she wrote that her sister and the two children had passed away the night before.

She asked for privacy and said funeral arrangements would be shared when they were available.

Brittany Meisner, who handled public relations for tea through the firm's South House PR, posted

a tribute on Instagram. She described tea as a devoted mother and businesswoman and a great friend.

She said that tea was always looking for

the next adventure. Houston police have not released any information about a motive. Traveler's
