Summary

There are almost 2.6 million domestic workers in Europe working in private homes or others. Though representing a huge and vital workforce, their economic and social contribution has often been denied and they are longing for recognition. Although domestic workers are finally enjoying more social rights, trade unions have a key role to play to achieve improved working conditions for domestic workers within and across borders.

So Grace, you work for effort. Can you perhaps tell us a little bit more about what effort

is and what you're doing for domestic workers?

Yes, sure. I am Grace Papa. And as you said, I am working for Effatt. Effatt is the European

Federation of Trade Unions in the food, agriculture and tourism sectors.

We are also representing domestic workers as the umbrella organization of 160 national trade unions from 37 European countries.

EFET defends the interests of more than 25 million workers in Europe.

And I am a political secretary in charge of gender equality and diversity, but also especially

responsible for the domestic work sector.
