Summary

There is a lot of fear in the United States and around the world right now, but did you know that there is an emotion that is more powerful than fear? There is—it's called HOPE.

Hope is a powerful motivator!

As Christians, we dare not put our hope in an election. That doesn't mean we sit it out—it means that we cast our vote with hope.

Hope changes everything. Once we have been obedient, once we have made our stand, when we have done what we could do—when we have prayed, obeyed and trusted—we wait. With hope.

No matter what happens on November 8th, our hope is in Him. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/heidistjohn/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/heidistjohn/support

0:57.2

Mom Podcast. Today I'm going to be talking a little bit about hope and what it looks

1:02.2

like for Christians to have hope for such a time as this. And I'm really actually, I'm

1:07.5

encouraged. I went to church last Sunday and was listening to our pastor Jeremy Carmichael

1:12.7

kind of going through the story of the Israelites and the Philistines out of 1st Samuel chapter

1:19.5

7. And I thought, you know what, I'm going to bring that. Next time I have a chance to

1:23.5

I'm going to kind of bring a little bit of what he said to the podcast because I think

1:26.9

it's so important for us to have hope in the midst of everything that's happening around

1:31.6

us. You can't keep up with the news anymore, right? I've sort of stopped trying. I'm going

1:36.6

to be like I've told you guys a hundred times on the podcast in the last several months.

1:40.6

I'm going to be rejoicing like crazy when the election is over. And I'm praying, praying

1:48.0

like crazy that God will show up. You know, we talked about last week, we talked about

1:52.1

what a healthy kind of fear is. And there is a healthy kind of fear. And obviously our
