Time to End the War in Afghanistan. And when I first saw the book,

for some reason, I assumed it was going to be like a thousand pages long and it was,

you know, going to take forever to read. But I was actually pleasantly surprised by how dense,

how much information you're able to put in a book that's just under 300 pages long.

And I mean, the amount of information you packed in there, you give enough of each

slice of sort of what's, you know, happened in Afghanistan. And I just hats off to you for doing this.

It must have taken you an incredible amount of time and energy and work.

Well, thanks very much. Yeah, it took me about a year and, I guess almost a year and a half, a year and a few months.

I actually started it. The plan was to write eight or nine, seven or eight or nine, really brief chapters about each of the wars.

I got bogged down in the Afghan quagmire.

Really, I got bogged down first of all writing the getting into this mess, what's now chapter one.

And then when I started writing chapter two, it just got so long I finally at some point had to admit to myself that I'm never going to get to Iraq this is its own book now so I better go

ahead and get it right and finish it up so I went ahead and fleshed it out and

committed to just making about Afghanistan then I cut a bunch out of getting into

this mess because I had a whole treatment of the Iranian Revolution the Iran-Iraq
