Hey, welcome back to another episode of the Catholic Talk Show. Today we're gonna be talking about papal assassinations.

That's right. So many times the Holy Father has been the target of assassination attempts.

Sometimes the Pope has been spared. Other times the Pope has been assassinated, and we're gonna explore that today.

So, today we're gonna be talking about papal assassinations and papal assassination attempts.

Throughout history, there's been so many times when people have used force against the Holy Father,

because he holds so much influence and sway over both the secular and the spiritual world, and it makes him a target.

You know, and we were thinking about this because our own illustrious Father Rich was recently named a missionary, a mercy,

which is a very high papal honor and something that you really deserve, because, I mean, you taught me a ton about showing mercy and, and, you know, pastoral closeness.

That's, you know, a lot of people are all pastoral closeness. It's true, it's what Jesus is one.

But, one of the privileges as a missionary of mercy that Father Rich now has is that he can forgive sins that are typically only reserved for the Pope to be able to forgive.

And this is one of those sins, like an attack on the person of the Holy Father is a physical attack, is an excommunicable offense.
