Summary

A.k.a. the one that got away. Yes, friends, this is the *only* Poirot short story not to be adapted by the ITV series starring David Suchet. And while it's a bit... out there, we found ourselves wishing this tale of madness and murder had been adapted in the earlier, peppier seasons featuring the whole crime-solving gang. What would Miss Lemon have made of a centuries-old inherited family curse? What sport would Hastings have been obsessed with as a side-pursuit? When would Japp and his trench coat have made their much-needed appearance? How would a car chase have been shoehorned into the proceedings? The fact that we'll never know just may be our own curse, but we'll learn to live with it together.

0:40.0	we kind of go where the wind takes us in these interstitial episodes and when we were speaking...
0:45.6	Well we didn't, we didn't for a long time, but once we made it through Poiro investigates,
0:50.4	now we're just using it as a free for all.
0:53.0	But you could even argue though that Paro investigates was a little haphazard since there were earlier
0:57.0	pauros. If we were going to go in chronological order with the Para's
1:00.0	earned stories, we have not. So we we acknowledge that. We have embraced the sporadic nature of our short story coverage.
1:08.6	But in a previous episode with our good friend Mark Aldridge for the film adaptations of
1:13.8	Murder on the Orient Express he mentioned that this particular short story is
1:18.2	the only one that was not adapted for the sushiushi I TV series and we were not aware of that and that was very
1:27.1	interesting to us I will say and this is to be perfectly fair to Mr. Suchet himself, I looked it up in his book that he wrote about
1:35.9	the series and he does admit in the book.
1:38.6	He mentions the Missouri A inheritance and says that there was only one tiny short story this being that one
1:44.8	that they did not adapt for the series. Unless I'm mistaken I believe that Mr.
