Summary

Our sixth season begins with Paul's triumphant return to the microphone after beating Covid and a special episode format! To celebrate the new year (and Paul being back), the guys explore the story of one family's fight to stay sane in their new, haunted house. In a series of events dating from the early 1980s to the 1990s, the family is subjected to sleep suffocation, orbs, shadow creatures, and a whole lot more. This story is loosely based on "Grave's End: A True Ghost Story", by Elaine Mercado, published in 2001 by Llewellyn Worldwide. Now out of print, used copies can be found via Amazon and ABE Books. Music on This Episode: Main Theme:   "Radio (Into the Darkness We Go)" by Podzontommusic Stories Theme: "The Future Belongs to Them Now" by Hexxagram Bumpers:      "Brooklyn" by Chronillogical "Radio" and "The Future Belongs to Them Now" are used with permission, all other music and sound FX are licensed via Epidemic Sound.  Want more show AND ad-free episodes? And this is a show where we talk about spooks, spectres, and all the things watching us from the

shadows beyond the campfire. Some conversations only make sense after the sun has set, and this is

0:47.8

most definitely one. Thanks for tuning in. This is episode number 128, and we're coming to you from

that tiny mountain cabin you dream about, but can never quite reach. How are you, Paul? Almost,

1:00.0

back to normal, I think. Thanks. Yeah, yeah. Ropey week, but we got through it eventually.

1:09.7

So you had the Rona, you were sick for how long? In total, it would probably be, I would say,

1:15.6

12 days. Jesus Christ. What a bastard. Yeah, it was worse than swine flu, because obviously I had

1:23.2

swine flu many years ago. That was pretty ropey for about four days, but this was just, it was just

1:29.1

crap. I think what really distressed me is when you said that you had no energy.

1:33.7

You make me look like I'm standing still. So to find out that you had no energy was genuinely

1:38.3

alarming. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I just wanted to sleep all the time, which is, you know, I'm a big

fan of lions. I think they're amazing. I've always been a much more a fan of a lion than an

I can't do an early night. As far as I'm concerned, who goes to bed before midnight, but that's

just me. No, no, no, no, that's the first five days was pretty ill. And obviously, regardless of

vaccines and stuff, you don't know how your body's going to deal with it. Thankfully, we were,

2:10.8

we were okay through it. And then it just really started getting on my nerves.

2:14.2

The worst thing is, I've seen people talk about it and they say, oh, yeah, you feel like

2:21.1

you're fine. And I was, I suddenly feel, suddenly feel absolutely fine. And I think, oh,

2:26.8

really, do stuff. And I think after about four days, I just was sat watching television and I

thought, oh, I feel normal. What's going on here? It was a bit odd, like, I felt my head start
