Today on The Grave Talks, we continue our conversation with Teresa Chung about her latest book,

Haunted World, 101 ghostly places and encounters.

And you also separated these stories into categories, and we'll go through them one by one.

But there's residual, poltergeist, inhuman, and intelligent.

Yes.

Why did you decide to go with the categories and separate the stories out like that?

Well, I also must stress, I, I'm there's some points.

I must get across that, you know, one in four people believe in ghosts, right?

And that was another big,

big reason for writing this book because they are the norm, not the exception. So if you've had a

paranormal experience, please don't think that you're weird or irrational. You're not. You're just a

human being. It's part of the human experiences and these stories are like

witness statements. They need to be treated as data. But I divided them into four categories because

I wanted to show where I think the future of paranormal research is heading because in a way

they all build up to the crescendo of the 101th entry, which I won't give it away what it is for a reason.

I started with residual because they are by far the most commonly reported hauntings.

And these actually, if you work with parapsychologists, as I've done, may not actually be

hauntings in the sense this is from the afterlife.

What these residual hauntings may be is emotional imprints on the environment that have

somehow lingered there. Can't explain why yet, you know, science is trying to get there that some hugely traumatic event happened,

typically on a battlefield or a murder or a suicide or a crime that was so harrowing, the emotions so

intense that they somehow energetically imprinted themselves on the environment and then highly sensitive people
