Welcome back to the Dirt Show. A lot has happened since the last time we spoke on Wednesday.

0:07.7

I want to make a personal comment just yesterday. A very close lawyer friend of mine died

0:16.7

after a long bout of Alzheimer's. His name was Gerald Schargel, a wonderful obituary

0:23.2

in today's New York Times. The interesting thing about Jerry Schargel, we did his first

0:29.0

case together, right at Alaska. We did together. In fact, the walk clerk on that case was none

0:37.5

other than Justice Alita, and he once told me that one of the reasons he became a criminal

0:43.8

lawyer, he was a prosecutor, was because he saw me in action and Jerry, Jerry Schargel

0:49.0

in action, snapping victory out of the droids of defeat. We helped our clients not spend

year to have an award, maybe in Jerry's name. I would call it the John Adams Award for

1:35.6

the lawyer who took on the most despised and hated client. I probably win it for my

1:44.1

Trump defense one year, but that was only several years ago. Every year there'd be a different

1:50.0

winner. Because we're losing the tradition of John Adams and Daniel Webster and Abraham Lincoln

1:59.2

and Thurgood Marshall and so many other people who over the years have put their reputations

2:09.2

and their fortunes at stake by representing the most despised people in the world as HL

2:15.7

Lincoln once said, you have to defend the SOBs because the SOBs are the ones that come

2:21.3

after first. They make bad laws on them and then they come after the rest of us. So we don't

2:27.4

represent bad guys because we like bad guys. I hate bad guys. I hate criminals. I hate
