Summary

Hi lovies! This is a Power Up to do with a friend, your hubby, or just solo with a pen and paper. Caveat: This leans more heavily into the self-help genre than most of my podcasts, but despite that – it’s super fun and more importantly, it’s beneficial to your quality of life! I think so much of personal growth is getting over that hump of “OMG this is stupid” and just doing it anyway even though you sound like a cliché. So with that – I want to offer you a Gratitude Practice that’s best done with a friend or significant other. A way to look at your growth and foster what you want more of moving forward. Enjoy! xox Help Me Be Me takes hundreds of hours to create. If you get anything out of this show or it brings value to your life, please consider a monthly donation – even something as small as a cup of coffee helps immensely. So I recommend you do this with a friend or you can also do it by yourself, but it's really fun to do with a friend or significant other.

So just one caveat, this leans more heavily into the, what I would call the more typical self-help genre, but it's really fun and I think so much of personal growth is just getting over the hump of oh my God this is utter bullshit and then just doing it anyway even though you feel like a

cliche. So yes this is a gratitude reflection and doing gratitude I

1:09.7

know sounds so just lame. There's no other way to say it. It sounds dorky and lame. I even

1:17.0

hated, I hate the word journal. I hate the word for the most part I hate all

1:21.9

things associated with self-help but there's a reason that I do

1:26.3

them anyway and it's partly because they are effective in my experience so I offer these

1:32.3

to you pretend it's not as gross as it is.

1:36.0

Just let it go. Run into the fact that you're going to feel dorky. Accept it, embrace it almost. But just do it. Allow yourself to try all things because

1:47.8

you will get a lot further that way when you allow yourself access to all potential tools.

1:53.7

Tweaking focus is just correcting where your eye is looking.

1:58.9

And when you do this kind of exercise, you can actually steer your life a lot more.

2:06.6

And then with a little bit of just constant reminding of where you want to go, everything in your life will improve drastically.

2:16.8

In addition to that, practicing gratitude will actually give you capacity and ability to have more

willpower.

2:24.3

By just focusing on the positive, you actually

increase your capacity and ability
