We don't always see eye to eye, but I hope you'll find some great reading suggestions here. Hello, with me today, two musicians. First, Lloyd Cole, erstwhile lead

singer with Lloyd Cole and the commotions, who's since released 13 solo albums, the most

recent being Guesswork. And with Lloyd Francis MacDonald, drummer with Glasgow band Teenage Fan Club. Their latest album is Endless Arcade.

Francis also manages the band Camera Obscura, who, and this is a nice twist, once released an answer song of sorts to Lloyd Coles,

Are You Ready to Be Heartbroken, called, Lloyd, I'm Ready to Be Heartbroken called Lloyd, I'm ready to be heartbroken.

Lloyd, I'm ready to learn what you are recommending as a good read. What is it? Chandler's the

big sleep. Thinking through all the books that I've loved, it was actually very, very difficult to

choose just one. So I end up going back to the first Chandler that I read, and this is probably

rereading it the fifth or sixth time I've read it.

I've been very fond of Chandler since I was in my probably early 20s, and it's the dialogue for me.

It's the interaction between the characters.
