Hello, with me today, two novelists. Baron Archer of Western Supermare, more popularly, Geoffrey Archer,

is the author of more than 30 bestsellers, including Cain and Abel,

first among equals, and recently the Clifton Chronicle series. His new book is the author of more than 30 bestsellers, including Kane and Abel, First Among Equals,

and recently the Clifton Chronicle series.

His new book, Heds You Win, is his first standalone novel in almost a decade and came out this month.

With Geoffrey is Carmilla Shamsi, nominated in 2013 as one of Granta's best young British novelists and whose

seven novels include burnt shadows, a god in every stone, and the latest home fire, winner

of this year's Women's Prize for Fiction.

Geoffrey Archer, would you start by telling us what you recommend as a good read?

I recommended a book called Reunion by Fred

Allman. Fred Elman's one of those amazing men who could do almost anything. He started life

as an artist and that's how he saw himself and then wrote Reunion. I'm not saying as an amateur hobby, but almost.

It's a story of two boys at school.

One is an aristocrat, a German aristocrat, the other is the son of a doctor who is very clever.
