Hello, welcome. One thing you'd imagine was beyond doubt is that none of us is immortal.

But today's good reads include the real-life story of a woman

who, in a way, is. So, my guests, they are first the American financial guru broadcaster and

writer Alvin Hall, presenter among many other programs of the award-winning BBC 2 series, Your Money

or Your Life, and author of a number of books on finance, including most

recently The Stock Market Explained and a revised edition of Your Money or Your Life. With Alvin

is the novelist and journalist Indian Knight, a columnist for the Sunday Times and the author

of four novels and several non-fiction books, including due out this October, in your prime How to Age.
