What's your choice of a good read?

The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan.

I just so wish I'd written it, quite apart from anything else. It's about four Chinese

immigrant women and it's their story and also the stories of their four daughters who are

American Chinese women. And absolutely brilliant book. I think about mother-daughter relationship, about the immigrant experience, about, you know, husband and wife experiences well, partner experiences, just beautifully, simply told through their eight voices.

It begins at the mahjong table, and you're right in there.
