Everyone loves a good story and a good storyteller.

But there is no storyteller like the Lord Jesus, and there are no greater stories told than the ones Jesus shared.

In this study, spiritual stories, we consider the parables Jesus told

all the time talking about being a good Samaritan or good Samaritan laws. That comes directly

from the pages of Scripture. In fact, it comes directly from the lips of Jesus. In Luke

chapter number 10, we find this story that is commonly referred to as the story or the

parable of the Good Samaritan. Now, we know that these parables are earthly stories with heavenly

meanings and they're symbolic in nature, but some people have surmised that perhaps even this

story was taken from the news headlines of the day,

that it was a very common occasion for a man to be so abused and misused as the man who was beaten up and robbed,

and then someone comes along and shows compassion to him.

Either way, whether the story was real or the story was fictional, the truth is absolutely necessary.

We come to Luke chapter 10 and verse number 25 today, a very familiar passage.

And here's what I want you to see, not just the story, but the setting of the story.

And when you study a text, always, always look at the context.

Because it doesn't begin with Jesus just launching into the story of the Good Samaritan.
