I think Judge Katanti Brown Jackson had a very good day and I hope you've enjoyed

watching the hearings. If you get a chance to watch them, please do. Or just the highlights,

but it's interesting to watch all of them because they really do show you the best and

worst of America. The best in terms of Judge Jackson and how she has risen, how good

she is at her job, how great her family seems to be, how great her parents seem to be, a

real historical success story, and as well as hearing the accolades heaped upon her from these old white senators,

Democrats and some Republicans who are justifyingly praising her.

It is a moment of history and it's worth watching.

It's also worth watching because, well,

shucks, folks, we get a front row seat

to the ugliest part of America.

I don't mean the stupid racist part of America.

I mean something worse than that. I mean the political part of America that

bends over backwards to appeal to the stupid racist part of America. The confirmation hearings as we know them are not about judicial

qualifications. It's all about ideology and to a lesser extent, it's all about payback for the way Donald Trump's ridiculous nominees were treated.

Lindsay Graham, yesterday we discussed quite a bit, he was really upset that her nomination has been

less controversial than Brett Kavanaugh's. Of course, the reason her nomination has been less controversial than Brett Kavanaugh's is that Judge Jackson has not been

credibly accused of sexual assault. A little thing that distinguishes her from Judge Brett.

And it's been fascinating to see how

they're trying to make sure their dog whistle
