Okay, this is Beth. Listen, what we live for at Living Proof is to serve people the Word

of God. We base our ministry on Hebrews 412 that tells us that the Word is alive and

active. We pray this message is going to serve you in some way today and that God is

All right, staring at this more closely, so we're looking first of all, what have we

already learned? We've learned that the greatest reason why Scripture teaches that

Cain's offering was not acceptable and Abel's offering was acceptable is that for whatever

reason Abel brought he is by faith. He came to that altar by faith. He was after something

and he believed that by faith he was beating with his God. He believed that by faith that

offering made a difference. He believed. He believed in the God he was approaching and

he believed that what he, that the activity he was doing was making a difference. So all

of those forms, all of those ways that he exercised faith. Now keeping that in mind,

let's look at a second one. Look in verse 4 again as we're told then, verse chapter 4,

but Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. Now this is after we've

been told in 3 that Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord,

but verse 4, but Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. Now,

want you to look at this carefully because this again has got to be a huge issue and what's

involved here. Abel offered the first of his fruits. Abel offered the first of his fruits. Now,

by fruits, what do I mean? Fruit of his labor. He brought a firstling before God and he brought

some, and he also, he did not only bring it to him, he brought God the best parts of it. Now,

if you were to put a piece of, if you're going to roast a piece of meat, what's going to smell so

good while it's cooking? Is that that fat is dripping off of it? I mean, that's what is
