Aren't you glad God likes to write names in his book? Oh yes, my friend,

not only did he record these names in his book, the Bible, these genealogies, but aren't you

glad he has a book in heaven, the Lamb's Book of Life, with the name of all those who've put their

faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ? We're on the first page in the New Testament, Matthew

chapter number one, and we've learned some principles already. We've learned that the author of the book

knows all of us by name. We've learned that every person in the story has their purpose. We have

learned that there's someone before us in the story and there will be someone coming after us.

But let me give you another principle today. These are gems, really, gems from the genealogies, beautiful

truths that we can apply from the genealogical record of the Lord Jesus Christ. And here's the

ultimate one. Are you ready for it? Your significance in the story is only found in your connection to Jesus Christ.
