This is straight out of the Department of Unintended Consequences or, you know,

just unforeseen complications, but the LA Times, which is unquestionably a lefty

publication, really interesting coverage in depth of the, what's happened on the ground

after the legalization of marijuana and California. Their headline is,

the reality of legal weed in California, illegal grows and deaths, and they go into,

they open the article with a description of what's happening up in the Shasta area,

you know, Reading and Above, Shasta County. And so one of my favorite places in the world,

just absolutely gorgeous, but wild and untamed. And I'll just read some of it to you.

At this hour and distance, Serene Hughes, cloak the rugged enclave of Mount Shasta Vista,

a tense collective of seasonal camps, guarded by guns and dogs, where the daily runs of water

trucks are interrupted by police raids, armed robberies and sometimes death. So many hoop houses,

that's your like semi-temporary growing houses, like green houses you'd call them, hoop houses.
