In the always exciting Bay Area California, we'll start there.

This is a story about drug overdoses, which has been so overshadowed by the Chinese

bat fever, and it took a global pandemic to overshadow the drug crisis, because it

has reached you got to be kidding proportions.

And they're talking about the drug overdoses have killed so many more people in San Francisco

and the Bay Area than COVID.

It's not even close.

And they go through all sorts of insane statistics where there's already about 460 overdoses

this year, just under last year, which was a crazy record by the end of the year.

The peak came in January of this year when 76 people died, 76, and 70 of them had fentanyl

in their system.

It's still bad.

And then they get, of course, in the San Francisco Chronicle into what's causing this.

And they hit some of the usual suspects like income inequality, housing shortages, and

systemic racism, as they continue to double and triple down on policies that make it as

easy, convenient, and comfortable as possible to be a drug addict.

And then they're shocked when people become drug addicts or stay drug addicts and eventually

overdose.

And they're spending millions and millions of dollars on it, and they still have people

just drop in like flies.
