But the national fertility data provided by the US Census and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention tend to lump together all adults who aren't parents making a difficult to understand how many people identify as child free.

And people who are studying this have realized that the methodology is probably not right and they need to change it to better understand what's happening again that makes it difficult to identify trends if you change your collection and your methodology.
