In our busy world, family time frequently gets neglected.

It is vital that we give attention to our families while we can,

and it is especially important to give attention to what God says in his word about our homes. For the next few minutes,

let's join Scott Pauli as we open the scriptures and find God's message for your family.

Have you ever felt like you've just absolutely blown it? I mean, you had the greatest

opportunity, you had your moment, and then you just blew it. Well, let me just tell you,

we've all been there. Get in line, take a number. We've all had our terrible failures. Some people's failures

are just more public than others. Scripture tells us in one place that some men's sin are open

beforehand and others follow after. So the reality is we all have failed, which means we all need

forgiveness, and yes, we all need a fresh start.

Every family needs a new beginning, and that includes the first family. Now, we're still in

the book of Genesis. We've been here for a little while, spending some good quality family time

with Adam and Eve and their children. They are our first parents,

and they are our example, I think, in so many ways of first principles taught to us in

scripture. We've been concentrating on the early chapters in Genesis, where we see how God

established the family, and then we saw the family's great failure

and the consequences of it. But when you come to Genesis chapter 4, after the tragedy

of Adam and Eve's failure, after the tragedy of Kane and Abel, what a terrible story,

after all of that, there's a glimmer of hope. Aren't you glad that the God

who is light pierces the darkness with his own light? When you come to the end of Genesis

chapter 4, verse number 25, we read this, and Adam knew his wife again, and she bear a son, and called his nameh for god said she hath appointed me another seed

instead of abel whom king slew and to seth to him also there was born a son and he called his name
