If you have a Bible, I invite you to open it or to attend to the text that I think will be on the screen.

2 Corinthians, chapter 3, verse 18, and then right on into Chapter 4,

verse 7. Second of Corinthians 3,18. 47.

And we all with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.

For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart.

But we have renounced disgraceful underhanded ways.

We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God's word. But by the open statement of the truth, we would commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God.

And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing.

In their case, the God of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ who is the image of God.

For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord with ourselves as your servants for Jesus sake.

For God who said, let light shine out of darkness has shown in our hearts to give the light

of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that the

surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.

I know that you have gotten a heavy dose of Edwardian theology, I hope that what you will get now in the next half hour is faithful

biblical exposition. I do believe that all that you have heard from this pulpit has been true and

reflects the scripture. I hope that it will be more manifestly biblical because of our exposition this morning.

As you remember I'm responding to an objection. The objection after I lifted up the centrality of joy in the

deity and the centrality of joy in our glorifying him, I raise the objection, where was the cross and all of that?

Where was the gospel in all of that?

Where was the justification by grace alone through faith alone on the

ground of the righteousness of Christ alone? And where was regeneration in all of that and so that's what I'm responding to.
