Hey folks, welcome back to the Port Pearls Almanac. This is your host, Andy, and today we're talking with the team at

GC Resolve about the impending Farm Bill. While the Farm Bill is often seen as a tool that

focuses around mostly commodity crops, in recent years it has drawn attention as a tool to increase

diversity and equity in farming. We talk extensively about GC Results' work around incorporating more sustainable

agriculture support in the Farm Bill and what pragmatic solutions are possible. For some of

our longer-term listeners, some of this conversation might seem to fall outside of the scope

and the goals of this podcast as a whole. That said, our interests have never been to exist

within a bubble, and finding common ground for collective interests is fundamental in trying

to build a better and more just world. This also means understanding the perspective of folks

who come to different conclusions on how to address the issue of soil degradation and staving off climate

collapse.

In short, it's complicated.

That said, I think this is a really interesting conversation and highlights that there's

much more common ground than separate.

And we should be working to build deeper roots in that space.
